Will Young, BKin CPT

Owner & Head Coach

Will is passionate about helping others reach their full potential!

As a youth athlete, Will found success in a variety of athletic endeavours but ultimately turned his attention to volleyball, a sport that did not come naturally to him. Will relied on his "workhorse mentality" to help him keep up with more gifted athletes, taking in countless hours of additional practice and focusing his attention on the weight room to make up for his lack of size. Success followed as Will and his teammates accomplished four provincial championships (2x hard-court, 2x beach), two Canadian national medals (silver and bronze), two Junior Olympic medals (silver, bronze, all-tournament team) and a Western Canadian Gold medal in beach volleyball. Will was able to reach the highest level of volleyball in Canada playing in the CIS from 2009 to 2014 as a member and captain of both the University of Calgary Dinos and Mount Royal University Cougars. Summers were spent competing in professional and amateur beach tournaments, while training... hard! Through research, experimentation and good old fashioned hard work, Will was able to increase his vertical jump by 10 inches over the course of his post-secondary volleyball career. The tail-end of Will's career was hampered by debilitating back injuries that developed into a passion for injury prevention and sports therapy, particularly at the grassroots level. Since graduating from the University of Calgary with a degree in Kinesiology, Will has become the premier strength and conditioning coach for volleyball athletes in Calgary, having trained over 2000 athletes ranging from youth to university and professional levels. Will is available for on-court and strength and conditioning sessions.
